Dutch Digital Design.
Stories. News. Events.
Corona has forced the world to think differently. Therefore, Dutch Design Week - the largest design event in Northern Europe, with more than 2,600 designers and 355,000 visitors from home and abroad - had to become completely virtual. Dutch design-driven digital agency Vruchtvlees was given the challenge to make DDW20 happen.
In no time the agency, in close collaboration with the Dutch Design Foundation, created a completely new spin on the design festival's experience. Virtual, yet personal. In less than six months they developed an end-to-end platform, as well as a custom-built interface with presets where designers could personalise their 3D rooms.
The outcome: more than 800 unique digital exhibitions - each an artwork on their own - taking online connectivity and discovery to the next level.
Impressive platform replacing a physical festival. One of the rare online events that truly manages to engage!
